Education to me is about "Learning for self and acquiring the wisdom of life".
With the advent of technology, as we move into the boundary-less and interconnected world, the common phrase "sky is the limit" seems a bit of cliche, since the quantum of success has grown in manifold. With success comes the attitude towards winning and spirit of achievement and education should aim towards preparing the mind - set for excellence. Excellence can be achieved in various fields depending on the child's capacities and capabilities. We at Brilliants' Convent work at implementing a well-balanced curriculum which is enriched by incorporating a good pedagogy and integrated programmes to create learning experiences and right interpretation of facts. Experiential Learning, to me, is the key to quality education.
As I embark on my journey with Brilliants' Convent School-Pitampura, I take on the task of character building as an important area of growth along with excellence in multiple disciplines for my students. My focus has always been towards value-based learning, soft skills development, leadership training, the art of self-governance, disaster management and so on, so that our Brilliantians get the specialized skill and negotiating tools which they will be using constructively for the betterment of mankind.
At BCS our approach is as per NEP i.e. learning in a child centric, encouraging, activity based environment and we inculcate a scientific temper and a spirit of free enquiry. In our curriculum the student is the primary focus and each child is involved in the learning process. Keeping this in mind, we have started implementing The Sustainable Development Goals - also known as SDGs which seek to harmonize three core components for the future: economic growth, social inclusion, and environmental protection.
I am confident that BCS will always be a beacon of light, guiding the destiny of its students and radiating kindness and compassion as it soars high in its pursuit of academic excellence and in the fulfillment of the school motto i.e. 'Learn to serve'.
Sincerely,
Dr. Reeta Hashia
